Below you will find a suitable configuration for a higher volume application suited for spraying up to 10,000 lineal feet per shift.

Assumptions

1/ Shop air will be supplied to the paint booth . (otherwise a separate compressor needs to be added).

 
 
 

2/ A sink and counter is available near the spray booth. A storage area for paint should also be located close to the sink. No special storage is required for our non flammable water based technology.

3/ Air make up systems has not been included. Depending on how long the booth will be operating this is something that should be considered. It can add up to $10,000 to the installation. It can also be added later once the volume builds up .

4/ Installation will be performed by in-house personnel, and a certified electrician. Modifications to the building will be necessary to accept the exhaust from the booth. TOOLS USA can perform the booth installation if desired.

Infratech Portable IR System (6 units)
Three portable units would be required to dry each side of the masking rack. A 15 minute cycle time would be adequate before unloading the tubes and put the lineal onto drying racks. If a drying room is purchased or built, Infratech has put together a package which could be integrated into it (it is more or less the same cost as above). Masking Racks (4), 1 rack in spraying, 1 rack being loaded, 1 rack drying and 1 being unloaded.* Reduce rack count if volume doesn't require full parallel operation. A tube loader is available. It automatically loads the lineal (30 second cycle time) into the tube. Cost is around $11,000 -$13,000 depending on the length of the profiles. This unit is optional, since initially tubes could be loaded manually. An alternative to the vertical masking rack, is to work horizontally, and to use masking forms (or even the masking tubes, $2.20/ft. ).The throughput would be lower since no more than 6-8 sticks could be processed at a time.

Notes:

1/ Depending on how much throughput is required, labor will need to be scaled accordingly. In order to achieve 10,000 feet per shift, at least three people will be required to prep the vinyl and load the tubes. One painter, and an additional person for unloading would be required.

2/ Please select your "standard color" offering while building your paint facility. This will provide us adequate time to match colors and get approvals, or provide some coated samples .

3/ Higher volume conveyorized manual configurations can be quoted. Please consult AquaSurTech.

4/ Fully automated spraying or vacuum coating is not suggested for a fabricator. Apart from high initial investments, these systems tend to be maintenance intensive, and lack the flexibility to handle many different shapes, and quick changeovers of color. AquaSurTech is continuing to monitor the state of this technology.
